Partner Overview: The Workforce Development Agency has full-time counselors at JOBsolutions. Counselors provide in-depth assessments of the needs of our business customers and comprehensive services to both employers and job seekers.
JOBsolutions counselors are dedicated to helping businesses improve productivity and decrease turnover. They have the experience, expertise and the latest tools to make the best match between employers and people looking for the right job. JOBsolutions counselors coordinate mass recruitments, ease the pain of downsizing and can even provide very low-cost criminal background checks.
Counselors interview customers to assess employability, education, aptitude and interests. All partner services may be utilized and results in the development of an individual employment plan and ultimately in rewarding employment. JOBsolutions counselors help job seekers understand and maximize their strengths and provide short-term vocational training and other assistance to improve skills and overcome weaknesses.
Individual training accounts may be available to pay for short-term vocational training when the job seeker and counselor decide it is needed.
Job & Family Services
Job & Family Services conducts job search classes. Class size is kept small and the curriculum is taught in modules, allowing students to enter and benefit from the class on any given day. Instruction covers all the elements of organizing an efficient job search including basic resumes and cover letters which can be tailored for specific employers. After class time, assistance is available in contacting potential employers. Once an interview is scheduled, Job Search Coaches can help with everything from researching the company to providing transportation. Help can continue after the student lands the job if needed. Staff can help with professional or specialized clothing and necessary equipment, payment of license, certification and testing fees, pre-placement physicals and drug screening. Most importantly, they will be there to support both the employer and the new worker during the first critical months on the job. Job and Family Services also provides access to all public assistance cash and medical programs, Food Stamps, Child Care, and emergency services.

For Adults (18 years of age and older)
Adult services are presented on three distinct levels: Core, Intensive and Training Services
Core Services are available to the universal customer and include initial assessment, job search and placement assistance and career counseling.
Intensive Services are available to eligible individuals who have used one or more Core Services. They include in-depth assessment, counseling and career planning, and pre-vocational services for unemployed individuals who need additional assistance to reach self-sufficiency.
Training Services are available to eligible individuals who have met the requiremnts for Intensive Services and have not been able to obtain or keep employment. Individual Training Accounts are established to help finance training based upon the individuals choice of available training programs.
